Rubric: RUSSIAN SEASONS IN THE LIFE OF THE LEGAL COMMUNITY

Annotation: Civic education is a "best practice" in which all law schools and all lawyers everywhere have an obligation to engage. The law is the cornerstone of peace and tranquility, prosperity, and justice. Civic education about law is the key to ensure that any and all nations have the opportunity to thrive and flourish peacefully. We must uphold and promote the rule of law and respond to the rapid and fundamental changes in business, technology, and society in ways that strengthen individuals, communities, and nations. Thus, it is imperative that law schools participate in the important work of increasing understanding of the legal system among all people: how it works and why it is critical to the functioning of society. Brooklyn Law School has a rich 115-year legacy of advancing civic education, as well as working with the community and schools in Brooklyn, serving the legal needs of less-advantaged clients, and opening the doors of legal education to people of all backgrounds.
